Job summary

Bethesda Health Group seeks a Respiratory Therapist to set up and operate devices such as non-invasive ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen equipment, and associated therapies per physician orders. You will monitor patient responses, participate in team-based care, and ensure equipment safety and effective treatment.

Required are an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy, an active state license, CPR certification, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• Knowledge of geriatric population and/or rehabilitation preferred.
• Current and valid RRT or CRT license.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved respiratory therapy program.
• Active Respiratory Care license in the state of employment.
• CPR certification required or obtainable within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate respiratory devices (ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen systems) per physician orders.
• Provide emergency care and assist with CPR; monitor vital signs and adjust therapy as needed.
• Read prescriptions and review patient information to assess condition; document thoroughly.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and management techniques.
• Maintain and inspect respiratory equipment; order repairs when necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other staff to manage patient care.
