Job summary

WeCare Centers is actively seeking a Transportation Aide for our community in Cedarhurst, NY. As a Transportation Aide you are entrusted with the responsibility of caring for our residents, families and co-workers.

The role includes driving a facility vehicle, transporting residents and staff, and assisting with transfers while maintaining safety and professional interaction. A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED.
• Valid, unencumbered state driver's license.
• 1–2 years transportation experience preferred.
• Previous long-term care experience.
• Experience transporting and transferring residents with impairments using facility equipment.

Responsibilities

• Report all pertinent information concerning resident care as detected to appropriate personnel.
• Drive facility provided vehicle.
• Transport residents, staff and volunteers to desired destinations.
• Review daily rehabilitation schedule and be available as indicated.
• Provide minimal assist of residents transferring to and from wheelchairs.
• Ensure a safe environment.
