Job summary

WeCare Centers in Cedarhurst, NY, is seeking a Resident Transport Driver to support our community. You will drive the facility vehicle and assist residents, staff and volunteers with transportation and care needs.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, safety and reliability. A high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and 1–2 years of transportation experience (preferably in long-term care) are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with residents and staff.
• 1–2 years transportation experience preferred.
• Experience transferring residents using facility equipment.
• Prior long-term care exposure is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Report all pertinent information concerning resident care as detected to appropriate personnel.
• Drive facility provided vehicle.
• Transport residents, staff and volunteers to desired destinations.
• Review daily rehabilitation schedule and be available as indicated.
• Provide minimal assist of residents transferring to and from wheelchairs.
• Ensure a safe environment.
