Job summary

Viva Senior Living at Lansdale is seeking a dedicated Resident Care Associate to provide direct care and support to residents, reporting changes in condition to the Resident Care Director.

You will assist with activities of daily living, maintain a homelike environment, and uphold residents' rights while following safety and infection control procedures. Availability for scheduled shifts is required. Further duties include emergency preparedness and ongoing competency requirements.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work with residents in a compassionate and dignified manner.
• Must adhere to attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to residents and report changes to the Resident Care Director immediately.
• Assist residents with lifts, moves, and transports using proper body mechanics.
• Respond to inquiries from residents, visitors, and staff promptly.
• Be knowledgeable of the individualized care plan and assist according to the plan.
• Communicate with residents, families, peers, and supervisors to promote a homelike environment.
• Understand residents' rights and report abuse or rights violations.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures and maintain skin integrity.
• Arrive to work at the scheduled time.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Ensure high quality of service in a caring atmosphere.
• Report exposures to blood or infectious materials per policy.
• Report injuries to supervisor.
• Complete training and skills competency.
• Participate in life safety and emergency drills.
• Assist evacuation during emergencies.
• Maintain confidentiality of PHI.
• Report confidentiality breaches to appropriate personnel.
• Protect residents from abuse and cooperate with investigations.
• Report allegations of abuse or mistreatment.
• Report retaliation or discrimination.
• Report suspected crimes to law enforcement.
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Must adhere to scheduled shifts.
