Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Resident Assistant/PCA in Mount Juliet, TN to provide daily living assistance to residents and support the nursing team. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, documenting status and incidents, and maintaining safety and confidentiality.

A High School Diploma or GED and state-approved PCA program completion are required, with CPR/First Aid certification or commitment to obtain within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have successfully completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations as applicable.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals.
• Assist residents with housekeeping duties and daily living tasks.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Assist residents to and from the dining room and activities.
• Check on residents, ensure attendance at meals and activities.
• Communicate status and upcoming events to the nursing team.
• Provide emotional support to new residents during move-in.
