Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current PTA license or certification in Florida
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with elderly residents
• Ability to collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and care teams
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Understanding of rehabilitation principles and SNF guidelines (preferred)
• Ability to lift and assist residents safely during mobility activities

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs
• Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, ensuring equipment is used appropriately
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support overall care plans
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily functional activities
