Job summary

Westerville Staff is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to assist the Staff Physical Therapist with resident-related activities and direct resident care. You will treat residents as directed by the PT, document meticulously, and maintain a safe treatment setting following infection control and safety protocols.

You will educate residents and families, assist with training of Restorative Aides, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and help with DME recommendations to promote mobility

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Proficient in Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Ability to read technical procedures, policies, and manuals.
• Ability to apply basic math concepts to practical scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by Physical Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment per infection control and safety protocols.
• Communicate with supervising PT to update physicians and the care team.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on goals and home programs.
• Assist with training Restorative Aides as needed.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of durable medical equipment.
• Contribute to quality assurance and rehab program development.
• Relate positively with residents, families, staff, and colleagues.
