Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist Assistant to assist the Physical Therapist in delivering care in the Acute Rehab Unit. You will perform PT procedures under supervision, document progress, and adjust treatment within the plan while ensuring patient safety and dignity.

The role supports a collaborative team, handles age-specific patient needs, and participates in pain management following department policy.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistance.
• Current licensure in Missouri or eligible for licensure.
• Entry-level experience acceptable for this per diem role.
• Health Care Provider Basic Life Support certification.
• Must meet age-specific patient care needs and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy services.
• Document patient progress notes and communicate findings.
• Modify treatments within the established plan as patient status changes.
• Coordinate workload and provide direction to the Physical Therapy aide as directed.
• Ensure patient safety and address pain management per policy.
