Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join the Southside Medical Center team in Petersburg, VA. You will perform initial and ongoing assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver skilled physical therapy care across inpatient, outpatient, and pediatric settings in a collaborative environment.

This full-time role offers a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 and a comprehensive benefits package. BLS is required within 30 days for RSFH; licensure in-state is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of current practice or eligible for traineeship or temporary license in the state of current practice (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH)
• 2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred)
• Demonstrates age-specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management
• Demonstrates critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, gathering pertinent information from various sources, and develops an appropriate treatment plan with specific goals.
• Provides direct therapy to patients daily following patient’s plan of care and current standards of practice for Physical Therapy.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient’s progress in EMR and coordinates services.
• Delivers efficient and effective care to patients meeting department standards.
• Supervises the physical therapist assistant’s treatment interventions as applicable.
