Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Delegation by a Registered Nurse for medication administration.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Exercise independent judgment in tasks beyond routine resident care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitor responses.
• Assist residents with medications and supervise self-administration.
• Maintain residents' records daily, including medication distributions and changes.
• Write weekly/monthly summaries addressing issues from service plans.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room.
• Receive and manage reports on all residents.
• Count controlled substances with outgoing RMAs, ensuring accuracy.
• Provide direct resident care as described in the Resident Assistant Job Description.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond promptly to requests.
• Promote teamwork with co-workers and attend in-service trainings.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance, cleanliness, and hygiene per policy.
