Job summary

Mercy is seeking a driven Primary Care Medical Assistant in Kirkwood, MO to support providers and the clinical team. You will prepare patients for visits, record chief complaints, take vitals, and assist with in-office testing and vaccines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Active Medical Assistant certification (RMA, CCMA, CMA).
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Prior clinical healthcare experience in primary care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by recording chief complaints and vitals.
• Perform medication reconciliation and document in EHR.
• Assist with in-office testing (blood draws, EKGs, etc.).
• Administer vaccines and injections within scope of practice.
• Schedule follow-up appointments per office policy.
• Collaborate with providers to coordinate and monitor care plans.
• Support care gaps such as screenings (fall risk, depression, cancer screenings).
