Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship in Kirkwood, MO is seeking a Primary Care Medical Assistant to support Mercy Primary Care Providers. You will prepare patients, take vital signs, review history, and help close care gaps within the Epic system.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS within 90 days, and preferred 6 months of clinical experience in a primary care setting. 40 hours/week, days, with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire preferred/required.
• Preferred 6 months clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for visit by completing rooming process and entry of chief complaint.
• Take patient vital signs; review history and allergies.
• Complete thorough medication reconciliation.
• Close care gaps (screenings, chronic disease checks) and document in the EHR.
• Recheck elevated blood pressures and update yearly preventive documentation as needed.
• Assist with in-office testing (blood draws, EKGs, oxygen studies) and vaccines.
• Schedule follow-ups per office policy and coordinate care plans with the team.
