Job summary

Gilbert Community School District is seeking a part-time Preschool Bus Associate to supervise preschool students on the school bus and assist with safe boarding and seating. The role reports to the Building Principal and/or Transportation Director and is based in Gilbert, Iowa.

Hours are approximately one hour per day with a schedule of Tue, Thurs, Fri 11:00-12:15 and Wed 10:30-12:15. There may be substitute opportunities as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work positively and patiently with young children.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, responsible, and punctual.
• Ability to follow directions and established safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise preschool students on the bus.
• Assist students entering and exiting the bus as needed.
• Help students remain safely seated and follow bus rules.
• Provide a calm, friendly presence for students during transportation.
• Communicate any student concerns to appropriate staff.
