Job summary

Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) seeks a Prekindergarten Teacher Assistant Substitute for Hyde Park to support UPK classrooms and teaching staff. You will assist in implementing the Education Component objectives and work with families to promote child development.

The role requires collaboration with Lead Teachers, coaching sessions, and adherence to state and federal regulations. The position offers a stable full-time appointment with a competitive annual salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active CDA credential or ECE certificate preferred.
• Bilingual in a language spoken by families served preferred.
• Experience teaching preschool preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide substitute teaching in Head Start classrooms.
• Assist with day-to-day implementation of Education Component objectives.
• Promote mission of ABCD Head Start/Children’s Services and engage with staff and families.
• Maintain records of observations and communications with parents.
• Support development and implementation of developmentally-appropriate lesson plans.
