Job summary

The DCH Health System in Alabama seeks a compassionate Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help maintain a clean, safe patient environment.

Candidates should have HS diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and current BLS. Prior patient care or in-service training is preferred; nursing students welcome for growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience or completion of in-service training required.
• Clerical experience or completion of in-service education required.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Candidates with patient care experience, those currently enrolled in a nursing program or those with prior customer service experience are preferred.
• Requires computer and/or computer software knowledge or experience.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training required.
• Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and monitor vital signs per plan.
• Document care and maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Assist with monitor duties, labs collection and transport.
• Stock supplies and maintain an organized, safe nursing unit.
