Job summary

Regional One Health is seeking a Phlebotomy/Lab Technician to obtain and prepare specimens, perform venous and capillary collections, and transport requests to the laboratory. You will interact with patients, explain procedures, and ensure accuracy and safety in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires completion of an approved phlebotomy program and the ability to work with diverse patient populations, including neonates and geriatrics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved Lab Liaison Technician or Phlebotomy Technician training program required.
• Ability to work with neonate, infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and prepare specimens according to department policies.
• Collect venous, capillary and micro specimens from patients.
• Label specimens and test requests accurately and transport to the appropriate labs.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain cooperation while ensuring safety.
• Maintain records and ensure confidentiality per HIPAA and policies.
• Assist in staff training and provide coverage as needed.
