Job summary

Regional One Health in Memphis, TN is seeking a Laboratory Liaison/Phlebotomy Technician to join the General Service Lab. Day shift, full-time position, with responsibilities to obtain and prepare specimens, perform venous and capillary collections, and ensure patient safety and HIPAA compliance.

You will collect at bedside, verify patient identity, label specimens, transport requests to labs, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved Lab Liaison/Phlebotomy training program required.
• Experience with neonate through geriatric patient populations as assigned.
• At least 1 year of hospital-based blood collection/phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and prepare specimens per department policies, prioritizing patient safety and infection control.
• Perform venous, capillary, puncture and micro-sticks with proper technique to prevent complications.
• Visit patients at bedside to collect blood specimens.
• Verify patient identification and correctly label specimens.
• Transport specimens and requests to appropriate labs.
• Maintain records and ensure HIPAA and confidentiality compliance.
• Support housekeeping of equipment and supplies; assist with ongoing training as needed.
• Provide coverage to ensure continuous lab operations including nights/weekends/holidays.
