Job summary

ScionHealth is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipunctures, prepare and label specimens, and maintain accurate documentation. You will interact with patients professionally, provide clear collection instructions, and ensure safety and infection control protocols are followed.

The role includes handling LIS data entry, maintaining clean work areas, and supporting clerical tasks while participating in ongoing training and quality assurance activities to uphold patient care standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy training program preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; BLS certification within facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures as ordered.
• Label, log, and process specimens per protocols.
• Prepare collection trays and maintain work areas.
• Provide patients with clear collection procedure instructions.
• Document specimen collection in LIS.
• Assist with clerical tasks and patient records.
• Ensure infection control and safety compliance in interactions.
• Participate in training and quality assurance as required.
