• Performs venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood specimens as ordered.
• Labels, logs, and processes specimens according to laboratory protocols.
• Prepares collection trays and maintains cleanliness/restocking of work areas.
• Provides clear instructions to patients regarding collection procedures and tests.
• Documents specimen collection in the LIS.
• Assists with clerical tasks including data entry and patient records management.
• Ensures compliance with infection control and safety protocols in all patient interactions.
• Responds to inquiries from patients, staff, and departments regarding laboratory services.
• Participates in training, quality assurance, and continuing education as required.
