Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a qualified Phlebotomist to join the St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital team. You will draw blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, and perform related clerical duties to keep the lab running smoothly.

You will greet patients, ensure patient identification, and handle specimen processing, labeling, and data entry. Travel to off-site locations is expected, and a customer-service approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required.
• One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately and match identity with service.
• Perform data entry and processing of specimens (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing).
• Handle clerical duties including inventory checks and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
