MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect specimens from patients and assist the CLS when possible, while helping in specimen processing and filing. This role reports to the Phlebotomy Lead and Lab Manager and supports the hospital’s mission and core values.

The successful candidate will have LIS proficiency, basic computer skills, a BLS certification, and at least 6 months of phlebotomy experience, with 3 years preferred.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months of blood specimen collection experience; 3 years preferred.
• CA Certified Phlebotomy Technician license preferred for internal candidates.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers from the American Heart Association.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card within 90 days of hire.

Aufgaben

• Collect samples from inpatients using standard venipuncture or skin puncture techniques.
• Restock phlebotomy supplies for all shifts and restock/maintain supplies.
• Perform data entry and use the Lab Information System (LIS).
• Deliver specimens to the lab as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized workplace and assist in clerical duties.
• Communicate with coworkers, hospital personnel and physicians.
• Assist the CLS when possible and support specimen processing and filing.
