Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect specimens from patients and support laboratory operations. The role includes cross-training to assist the CLS, handling specimen processing, and clerical duties, reporting to the Phlebotomy Lead and Lab Manager.

Required is 6 months of blood collection experience, LIS proficiency, and a current BLS certification; high school diploma or equivalent is also required. Equal Rights Employer and E-Verify statements are noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in blood specimen collections; 3 years preferred.
• Proficient with LIS and computer applications.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples from inpatients and outpatients using venipuncture or skin puncture per policy.
• Maintain restock of phlebotomy supplies across all shifts.
• Deliver specimens to the lab and enter data into LIS.
• Assist CLS when possible and support clerical duties as assigned.
