Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for St. Charles Hospital to draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, and perform related clerical tasks in a busy lab setting.

As a Mercy Health associate, you’ll support patient care with accuracy and compassion, travel to off-site locations as needed, and contribute to a collaborative team focused on quality outcomes and service excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred but not required.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately and match the patient’s identity with the correct service.
• Perform clerical duties including data entry, labeling, centrifuging, and processing specimens.
• Answer phones and assist with inventory as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
