Qualifications

• Collect blood specimens (capillary and venipuncture) from patients of all ages.
• Ensure specimen integrity through accurate patient identification and labeling.
• Perform occasional point-of-care testing such as glucose.
• Provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient identification and specimen labeling according to standard operating procedures.
• Obtain quality blood specimens and ensure correct collection technique.
• Perform, interpret and report point-of-care testing (e.g. glucose) and quality control.
• Process laboratory and patient reports per SOPs (printing, recording, distributing, faxing, filing).
• Communicate proactively to maintain department workflow and meet turnaround times.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet department needs.
