Responsibilities

• Performs patient identification and specimen labeling according to standard operating procedures.
• Obtain quality blood specimens (capillary and venipuncture) from patients of all ages.
• Performs, interprets and reports point-of-care testing (e.g. glucose) and quality control.
• Processes laboratory and patient reports per procedures (printing, filing, distributing, faxing).
• Communicates effectively to ensure timely department workflow and meets turnaround times.
