Job summary

Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect capillary and venipuncture specimens from patients of all ages and assist with non-blood collections while maintaining specimen integrity through accurate labeling and patient identification.

You will perform occasional point-of-care testing such as glucose and ensure timely specimen transport, delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient identification and specimen labeling according to standard operating procedures.
• Obtains quality blood specimens for accurate clinical decisions.
• Performs, interprets and reports point-of-care testing (e.g. glucose) and quality control.
• Processes laboratory and patient reports (printing, recording, distributing, faxing, filing, retrieving).
• Communicates efficiently and prioritizes requests to maintain workflow.
• Adheres to turnaround times for STAT, ASAP, and Pre-op draws.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet department needs.
