Job summary

Southeast Medical Group is seeking a phlebotomist to join the laboratory team in Marietta, GA. You will collect blood samples safely and compassionately, label and transport specimens, and maintain patient privacy and safety as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen processing, EHR data entry, and adherence to OSHA and HIPAA policies. A phlebotomy cert and 1 year of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; accredited phlebotomy training preferred.
• Certification as Phlebotomy Technician (CPT from NHA/ASCP or equivalent) required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience, preferably in clinical or hospital settings.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, venipuncture techniques, and infection control practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for diverse patient populations.
• Proficiency with medical software and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections per protocols.
• Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and obtain consent.
• Label, process, and transport specimens with accurate chain-of-custody.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and proper disposal of biohazards.
• Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
• Enter patient data and test requests into EHR with high accuracy.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and equipment calibration.
• Adhere to HIPAA and safety policies in all tasks.
