Job summary

PurposeCare in Oswego, IL is seeking a dedicated caregiver to provide compassionate support with daily living activities, safety, and comfort while honoring independence.

You will assist with bathing, grooming, meals, medication reminders, and accompany clients to appointments, with strong communication and documentation.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, CPR/First Aid certification, caregiving experience, and a patient, empathetic bedside manner; driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Prior experience in caregiving or a related healthcare support role.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet health screening requirements.
• Strong communication skills and basic literacy to document care activities accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Administer medication reminders and monitor clients’ health conditions, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals or family members.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and promote mental well-being.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments, social activities, or errands to support their engagement with the community.
• Document care provided and communicate effectively with the care team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
