Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to provide in-home or school-based support in California under supervision from healthcare professionals. You will help with day-to-day activities, mobility, personal hygiene, and essential health tasks in a compassionate and confidential manner.

The role emphasizes safe transfers, patient companionship, and coordination with families, schools, and local health resources.

Qualifications

• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program.
• One (1) year relevant experience preferred.
• Current BLS Card
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
• Knowledge of child growth and development
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the home, school, local health agency, and other community resources
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills; proficiency in English may be required
• Computer proficiency required
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities
• Demonstrates competence in performing skills per care plan
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene and related support services
• Assists with transfers and ambulation
• Provides companionship and engagement with client
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Reports changes in client status per care plan
• Performs other duties as assigned
