Job summary

Universacare is seeking a Personal Care Aide (PCA) in Waterbury, Connecticut, with flexible shifts including full-time, part-time, and per diem. You’ll assist with daily living activities, provide companionship, and support clients to live with dignity and comfort.

Ideal candidates have caregiving experience, a patient demeanor, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass background checks; PCA/HHA certification is a plus, but training is available for the right person.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving experience (formal or informal) preferred.
• A heart for service and a calm, patient demeanor.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality.
• Ability to pass background checks and health screenings PCA/HHA certification a plus—but we’re willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Support mobility and transfers
• Prepare light meals and assist with feeding
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Help with light housekeeping and errands
• Monitor and report changes in client condition
