Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic in Streeterville, Chicago.

You will support physicians and nurses with clinical tasks in an outpatient setting, including phlebotomy, injections, ECGs, and patient check-in/check-out activities. The role requires a formal MA program, a high school diploma, and 0–3 years of relevant experience, with CMA/RMA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant program.
• 0–3 years of relevant clinical experience.
• CMA (AAMA) or RMA preferred but not required.
• Some college, preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication/listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and specimen processing as directed by delegating provider.
• Administers injections (IM, subcutaneous, intradermal) and ophthalmic/nasal medications.
• Performs ECGs, places Holter monitors and downloads telemetry data.
• Maintains clinic flow and provides support for scheduling and front desk tasks.
• Documents data in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Assists with infection control and high-level disinfection if required.
• Completes trainings including Healthcare Provider CPR and other duties as assigned.
