Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a patient care technician to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or LPN. The role supports activities of daily living, communicates with the healthcare team, and upholds high professional ethics.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding, plus performing clinical tasks such as vital signs, phlebotomy, and EKGs where certified.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a PCT course or CNA program or have worked an equivalent of 1 year of direct patient care.
• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy training/education is required for the Emergency Department positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting and mobility.
• Monitor vital signs and perform site-specific tasks as directed; document changes.
• Perform phlebotomy/EKGs if certified and any other duties as directed by RN/LPN.
• Identify changes in patient status and communicate to RN/LPN.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care and safety.
