Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The role supports the patient’s comfort and safety during scheduled shifts in a hospital setting.

The PCT will record vital signs, assist with basic health care, and help with daily activities such as dressing, bathing, grooming, and meals.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
• CNA preferred.
• If ND and not CNA, must be on ND Nurse Aide Registry within four months of initial employment.
• If WI, must be on Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry or be a student nurse with 16 hours of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Record vital statistics and basic health information.
• Administer basic health care and medical treatments; assist with daily living activities.
• Prepare patient treatment areas and clean equipment; dispose of biomedical waste per policy.
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient health care.
• Provide one-on-one care to patients when necessary for safety or care needs.
