Job summary

Altra Homecare of Kokomo is seeking compassionate Personal Care Assistants (PCA) to join our Logansport team. In this role, you will deliver essential personal care tailored to each patient’s needs, supporting daily living activities and ensuring safety at all times.

Responsibilities include assisting with laundry, providing medication reminders, preparing light meals, aiding mobility, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance.
• Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient laundry when necessary.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Ensure patient safety.
• Report significant changes in the patient's condition directly to their supervisor.
• Prepare light meals and assist with patient feeding when required.
• Monitor and record patient temperature.
• Assist patients with ambulation.
• Conduct range of motion exercises and other simple physical activities.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and adhere to care protocols.
• Follow privacy policies and infection control guidelines.
• Offer bathing assistance.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Provide companion services, including letter-writing and reading.
