Job summary

Altra Homecare of Kokomo is seeking compassionate Personal Care Assistants for Logansport, IN. The PCA delivers essential personal care with a patient-first, relationship-driven approach.

Duties include medication reminders, bathing, mobility support, light meals, range of motion exercises, companionship, and thorough documentation while following privacy and infection-control guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience preferred.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care.
• Current CPR certification.
• Compliance with state and federal training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient laundry when necessary.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Ensure patient safety.
• Report significant changes in the patient's condition directly to their supervisor.
• Prepare light meals and assist with patient feeding when required.
• Monitor and record patient temperature.
• Assist patients with ambulation.
• Conduct range of motion exercises and other simple physical activities.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and adhere to care protocols.
• Follow privacy policies and infection control guidelines.
• Offer bathing assistance.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Provide companion services, including letter-writing and reading.
