Job summary

Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care in Joliet, IL, seeks a Triage Assistant to ensure patient needs are communicated during shifts. You will answer calls, assist with clerical tasks, and support data entry and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Hospice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical/behavioral health terminology.
• Demonstrated medical office experience.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for answering incoming phone calls from patients and caregivers in a clear, kind and compassionate manner.
• Communicate patient needs to the Lightways team and ensure follow-up.
• Collaborate with weekend staff to meet patient needs in a timely manner as directed by Supervisor.
• Completing audit work as directed.
• Follow protocol and procedure to patient confidentiality.
