Job summary

Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital is seeking a PRN Transporter to move patients safely and efficiently while upholding quality and compassion. You will use approved transport pathways, assist with admissions and discharges, and communicate with nurses and test sites to coordinate transfers.

The role requires BLS certification within 60 days, 18+ years old, and offers a supportive team, flexible hours, and extensive safety protocols. Prior patient-facing experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of hire (with prior approval)
• Must be at least 18 years of age if working in Radiology areas (per Intermountain's Employment of Minors Policy).
• Preferred qualifications include at least two (2) years of customer service experience and at least one (1) year of medical experience

Responsibilities

• Transports patients in a safe and efficient manner.
• Notifies patient nurse when taking or returning patient to/from room and notifies test site staff when patient arrives for test.
• Utilizes written Patient Handoff Form and ensures that handoff form is filled out prior to initiating transport and signs and turns in form immediately after completion of transport.
• Writes test location on the whiteboard in patient room when leaving with patient.
• Notifies patient nurse or test site staff of any problems that occurred during transport concerning patient condition or safety.
• Assists with patient admits & discharges
• Performs wheelchair/bed rounding and restocking
• May include cross training for support in other care site areas
