Compass Group USA’s TouchPoint unit in Detroit, MI is seeking a Patient Transporter for full-time and part-time roles at a fixed pay rate of $15.00 per hour. The position involves safe, timely transport of patients and medical equipment within Henry Ford St John Hospital, with rotating weekends and varying weekday hours.

As part of Compass Healthcare, you’ll work alongside nursing staff, use wheelchairs and rolling stock, and ensure patient comfort while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA

Responsibilities

• Properly and safely transports patients, secures IVs, drainage tubes, etc., and secures patient.
• Uses wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to carry out the essential duties of the position.
• Demonstrates competency in transporting all specific age groups.
• Ensures the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients to their destination using the proper requested equipment.
• Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians or reception and dispatch.
• Ensures the comfort of the patient by being attentive and respectful of modesty.
• Maintains equipment and reports equipment needing repairs.
• Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO, and HIPAA policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
