Qualifications

• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Properly and safely transports patients, secures IVs, drainage tubes, etc., and secures patient.
• Uses wheelchairs and other rolling stock to carry out duties.
• Demonstrates competency in transporting all specific age groups.
• Ensures safe, timely and accurate transport of patients to their destination using proper equipment.
• Communicates with nursing staff, clinicians, technicians or reception/dispatch.
• Ensures patient comfort, offers blankets, checks modesty, avoids inappropriate conversation.
• Alerts nursing staff to distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintains equipment and reports repairs.
• Follows regulatory standards including HIPAA.
