Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Centralized Transporter to move patients safely by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed and support non-clinical tasks that ensure quality care.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient comfort and safety, handling equipment, and coordinating with clinical staff. A high school diploma and BLS are required, and prior patient-care experience is preferred; on-site work with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed.
• Monitors isolation precautions and protective requirements.
• Relays critical information to staff upon entry or return to department.
• Performs patient-related clerical and non-clinical tasks to assist care.
• Maintains inventory of transport supplies and equipment.
