Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Interpersonal skills necessary for direct patient contact.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely between departments following transfer techniques and infection control procedures.
• Assists with patient handling and lifting using appropriate safety equipment.
• Distributes requested items between departments, may include medications.
• Responds to job calls promptly and uses the computer system to track requests.
• Cleans and disinfects patient care equipment and reusable items.
• May perform supply restocking or clerical duties in the assigned area.
• May operate a golf cart to provide distribution services.
• May transport deceased individuals to the facility morgue.
• Deliver timely services with a strong focus on customer service to staff, physicians, patients, families and visitors.
