Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Patient Transporter in Phoenix, AZ. This role supports clinical staff by moving patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the facility, with a focus on safety and efficiency. The position operates evenings, with weekend and holiday rotations.

The job emphasizes patient care, teamwork with the Clinical Care Operations (CCO) team, and adherence to safety protocols; a BLS certification is required and drivers' licenses may be needed depending on the facility.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Interpersonal and communication skills for direct patient contact.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Driver's license may be required where applicable by facility.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely between departments following transfer procedures.
• Assist with handling and moving patients using safety equipment.
• Distribute items between departments as needed, including medications.
• Respond promptly to job calls and update system status as required.
• Clean and disinfect patient care equipment and reusable items.
• May restock supplies or perform light clerical duties as needed.
• May drive a golf cart to provide distribution services.
• May transport deceased persons to the morgue.
• Deliver timely services focusing on customer service to staff, physicians, patients, families and visitors.
