Job summary

Banner Health in Glendale, Arizona is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients and distribute items across the facility. You will work in an active Clinical Care Operations team, covering the evening shift from 12:00pm to 8:30pm and interact with nurses and staff.

The role requires BLS certification, strong communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and a valid driver's license may be required

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Interpersonal skills to operate in a direct patient contact environment.
• Basic computer, organizational and problem solving skills.
• May require a valid driver’s license and auto insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely between departments following transfer techniques and infection control guidelines.
• Assists with patient handling using safety equipment and procedures.
• Distributes requested items between departments, including medications when needed.
• Responds to calls and updates status/location in the system to aid workflow.
• Cleans and disinfects patient care equipment and reusable items.
• May restock supplies or perform clerical duties in the area.
• May operate a golf cart for distribution services.
• May transport deceased persons to the facility morgue.
• Delivers services timely with a strong focus on customer service to staff, physicians, patients, families and visitors.
