Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a patient transport aide to support patient mobility and discharge processes. You will document trips in the Hospital Throughput system, assist with bedside transfers, and coordinate with nurses to ensure timely patient departure.

Responsibilities include moving patients and equipment, ensuring safety during transfers, and communicating arrivals and handoffs between departments. High school diploma and BLS/CPR are required.

Qualifications

• On the job training is provided.
• Basic computer experience is required.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Healthcare environment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document patient trips using Hospital Throughput computer program.
• Transport patients to and from care areas and assist with patient movement.
• Communicate with patients regarding pending departure and coordinate with nursing staff.
• Assist patients in and out of beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
• Move equipment under the Transport Department and use mobile devices to access the system.
• Obtain the Nurse’s signature on the Ticket to Ride and hand off to the receiving department.
