Job summary

Los Angeles Community Hospitals seeks a Driver to transport patients between home and hospital locations. You will follow all policies, ensure patient safety, and maintain a clean, safe environment, while assisting with clerical tasks as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid CA driver’s license, and BLS certification, with strong customer service and English communication skills, plus the ability to work at a pace matching workload and adhere to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification.
• Must read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Valid California Driver’s License with acceptable MVR.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Current Management of Assaultive Behavior Certification (within 30 days).
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent driving skills and follows policies. Transports patients per dispatcher schedule and ensures timely pick-up/drop-off.
• Maintains patient privacy and a clean, safe environment; follows Infection Control procedures.
• Checks vehicle conditions and reports unsafe conditions or repairs.
• Assists patients in and out of vehicles and provides caring, proactive service.
