Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Patient Transporter/Lift Technician to support on-campus transportation of patients and hospital items. You will perform complex lifts/transfers and ensure safe, timely movement under supervision.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, specimens and medications within the MUSC campus, and educating patients and families on transfer techniques for use after discharge.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or Equivalent
• Experience: 0–6 months
• State licensure and/or professional certification requirements vary by position

Responsibilities

• Transport patients within the MUSC campus safely and timely
• Assist with hospital-based transportation of patients, specimens, medications, and other items
• Provide patient and family education on transfer techniques for post-hospital use when appropriate
• Report to the Patient Transport Supervisor during daily operations
