Job summary

Project HOME is seeking a compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our Healthcare Services team in Philadelphia. You will be the first point of contact, welcoming patients, coordinating appointments, assisting with registration, and connecting individuals to healthcare resources.

We value trauma-informed, patient-centered service, strong communication skills, and proficiency with essential health IT systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical office experience, preferably at an FQHC.
• Experience using a Practice Management System (eCW preferred).
• Knowledge of Medicaid Managed Care Organizations and medical insurance.
• Familiarity with NaviNet, PROMISe, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with professional, compassionate service.
• Manage scheduling, registration, check-in, check-out, and follow-up appointments.
• Verify insurance coverage, collect copays, and maintain accurate records.
• Use EHR systems to support scheduling and registration workflows.
• Respond to inquiries with effective communication and de-escalation.
• Connect patients with Benefits Counselors and Referral Specialists.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient operations and positive experience.
• Protect patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Provide coverage at other Project HOME Healthcare Services locations as needed.
