Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Patient Companion to support hospitalized patients under the RN's direction. Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand written orders.
• Ability to write reports in English.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observe the patient’s activity to ensure safety.
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN with observations.
• Obtain vital signs and communicate findings to RN.
• Assist patients with hygiene needs as appropriate.
• Document duties performed in the EMR.
• Accompany patients to procedures and tests.
