Mary Washington Healthcare Incorporated is seeking a companion/care assistant to support hospitalized patients under RN direction. The role focuses on patient safety, regular observation, and fostering positive relationships with patients, families, and staff.

The position involves assisting with hygiene, linen changes, meals, and transportation to procedures, while documenting care in the EMR and ensuring continuous supervision by a registered nurse or designee.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read, write and understand written orders.
• Ability to write reports in English.
• BLS CPR certification required at hire.
• CPI training within 90 days of employment.

Responsabilidades

• Continuously observe the patient's activity to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
• Communicate with the RN and report changes in patient condition or observations.
• Obtain vital signs and communicate findings to RN.
• Assist patients with hygiene needs and linen changes as appropriate.
• Assist the RN/CNA with repositioning and nourishment reporting.
• Maintain a safe and orderly patient environment.
• Accompany patients to procedures and tests and observe them during procedures.
• Document duties performed in the EMR and ensure patient safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Conocimientos

High School diploma

English literacy

BLS CPR

CPI within 90 days

Orders comprehension
