Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a patient companionship role to assist hospitalized patients under the direction of the RN. The position focuses on safety, building positive relationships with patients, families, and staff, and maintaining accurate documentation in EMR.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient activity, communicating changes to the RN, assisting with hygiene and meals, and accompanying patients to procedures while ensuring continuous supervision and safe care at all

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand written orders.
• Ability to write reports in English.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• CPI within 90 days.

Responsabilidades

• Continuously observe the patient's activity to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
• Communicate with the RN and report changes in patient condition, problems, concerns, or observations.
• Obtain vital signs and report findings to RN.
• Assist patients with hygiene needs as appropriate.
• Assist with linen changes and repositioning.
• Support accurate measurement and reporting of intake.
• Assist with nourishment/meals.
• Maintain a safe and orderly patient environment.
• Accompany patients to procedures and tests and monitor during procedures.
• Ensure coverage by RN before leaving patient unattended.
• Document duties in the EMR.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
